Polythene is one of the most commonly used plastics and kerbside recycling doesn’t usually process it. Natural Weigh now collect it in their shop in Crickhowell. It is picked up from there by a local factory that can recycle it into building materials.
Capital Valley Plastics has produced this guide to what is suitable:
As a rule, if the plastic can be stretched then it should be recyclable.
- All Items should be clean and free of food
- Please tear off any sticky labels where possible
- Compostable or biodegradable bags are made of a different material and are not designed to be recycled so please do not include these.
